Screening of Salvadora persica leaves for antioxidant properties and total phenolic content

The objective of this research was to investigate the antioxidant properties Salvadora persica leaf extracts using various in vitro assays and compare them with total phenolic content. Petroleum ether, benzene, chloroform, methanol, aqueous were assessed for their ability scavenge free radicals such as DPPH, superoxide, hydroxyl along metal chelating capacity reducing power. Estimation content done Folin-ciocalteu reagent expressed mg/g Gallic acid equivalent. results demonstrated that all solvents exhibited significant concentration-dependent radical scavenging activity. Among five extracts, methanolic extract displayed highest activity contained 52.64 equivalents (GAE) study identified correlation between suggesting role compounds S. extracts. These findings suggest is rich compounds, which may account its potent Consequently, these emphasize potential a valuable source natural antioxidants provide scientific support use treating health conditions.
